Should I start with an acoustic or electric bass?
I want to learn to play bass, but I'm not sure if I should start on acoustic or electric I want to become a very good player and play in my school band jazz, but also maybe join a rock band also want to learn slap bass be better for me to start so that I can so that i can become better and learn new styles of play
If you want to learn slap, and finally playing in a rock band with electric go. the electricity will probably be cheaper too. Electrical probably work better for the band jass. Why get used to sound just to change to electricity, I do not understand. I think playing well is good, but if you go to get a single electric or at least a sound that has trucks. I've played guitar about 10 years and people always say they should start playing before playing acoustic electric, but that is really stupid. one is as easy as the other. I heard on both electric and can play pretty well. Honestly, I think this idea that you have to start acoustic comes from parents who do not bring their children in the practice of a quiet acoustic guitar then a loud electric guitar.
