Audio Prokeys
Is the M-AUDIO ProKeys 88sx worth the money?

I do not know this model, but m-audio as much - that make nice, sometimes really innovative arts although things have used their process rather than its control devices ... stilll - I found this review and print the complete review here (keyboard) -- Maybe this is what you're looking for? M-AUDIO ProKeys 88sx By Scott Healy | May 2006 is the musical version of Moore's Law: Keyboards have increasingly smaller, less expensive and better sound. Is it possible perhaps that is finally being rewarded for years of suffering with sub-standard piano simulations in bulky boxes heavy and designed for players who never had a snake for a basement stairs to a stage of many people? M-Audio ProKeys 88sx piano performance is part of a new class we call "ultra-light." It's stripped-down but full-size pro-equipped with everything built in order to keep down the cost. Ten years ago, Digital Piano 88-key weighing less than 20 pounds. was an impossible dream at any cost. It is now a reality. But how professional an instrument is what really receives? Let's find out. Sounds To put it simply, pianos sampled the ProKeys "great sound., Neither too hot nor too soft, they are fair to the average bear, and good for almost any situation from the band giving concerts. "Piano 1" is the go-to guy, a rich and multi-layer stereo samples of a concert Yamaha C7 Grand. It's nice and full, maybe a little brighter in the upper register, but rich and deep bass. The midrange sounded a little thin, especially for F3 G4, but you will not notice at the concert, unless you are playing a solo concert at Carnegie Hall. While the samples are mostly dry, with no type of environment inherent notes above A4 has a little whistle on his tail when hit hard, and I sometimes found difficult to control dynamics. The transition between F and FF, for example, could be smoother, and samples of more speed in the middle of the range of 88sx tend to jump when you start to play hard. Without doubt, all this could be resolved with further layers, but really, what do you want for the price of a blowout good sushi for four? Especially loved the stereo image, notes that move from left to right as you go up the keyboard. Piano 2 is brighter, with a more pronounced attack. "E. Piano" 1 and 2 and a Wurli Rhodes. I first and found the meat fat, especially enjoyable with a small choir, and the subsequent very authentic. "E. Piano 3" is a type of digital sound DX7. The Clavinet is excellent: funky, not too bright, and easy to control dynamics. Then there is the "Perc. The bodies," an attempt to ho-hum in jazz B-3 sound. Six out of seven is not bad, and I doubt that M-Audio 88sx meant to play the organ, in any case. buttons, effects, and the speed of disposal of buttons is simple and efficient. At the top are seven buttons change instrument sounds directly to the left are buttons for reverb and chorus, the curves velocity, and play the demo board. To sweeten the sounds on the fly with the reverb and chorus, each of which has three levels of intensity and an "off" option. A lit LED above the button indicates an active effect. The effects are global settings, and do not change when choosing a new sound. The speed control measures through four corners, and you can transpose up or down to 12 semitones with two special buttons - a feature of great concert. Note that all what is reset to the default power-up, and is a kind of drag that no user memory to store your favorite effects and velocity curves as presets. Restoring them is quite simple, but even one or two slots user would be very handy. MIDI Controller Features Advanced Function button is used to access the MIDI control functions, and this aspect of the ProKeys 88sx is thoughtful enough to warrant a closer look. Suppose you want to change the MIDI channel 're transmitting on. Click the Advanced Function button, then one of the white keys, D1-3, which are clearly labeled Ch 1 to 16 just above the keys. The keyboard momentarily mutes the sound, jump back to play mode once you've made your selection. All other MIDI functions - including the change Program, Bank Select, change octave controller assignments slider, mod wheel, expression pedal, data entry, and panic above are clearly labeled keys, and is explained in the brief and informative manual. In use it actually took to the button layout and general feel for the keys and controls. All 88sx's functions are very intuitive, and it was a while before I had to open the manual. I also liked the simple method of enhance fixation strength effect: It's good to just keep hitting a button to change reverb settings, rather than to page through of a number of parameters on a small screen. The practice of ProKeys 88sx in my study, the most difficult of the four velocity curves was my favorite - is a compensation for the semi-weighted keys a little, and most importantly, facilitated the transition to a stronger layer speed up I complained. Although you can assign the volume slider to send MIDI continuous controllers, I miss having a dedicated data slider for MIDI control, as you lose the volume control local internal sounds. One solution is to set the keyboard to "Local Off" and spend all MIDI data such as volume, through its computer and back to the 88sx. The labeling of the cats, which is only on the rear panel and not the top, is the kind of relief that the same color as the rest of her keyboard, so that is hard to read on stage. I also prefer to have even a small LCD to work with, plus LEDs and multi-function keyboard, but probably increase the cost. The ProKeys 88sx is the most solid and durable than other ultra-light I have used, some of which have kept me in the night thinking about the knobs that feel as if they could be interrupted by a stiff breeze. Also, do not forget that less software on the keyboard - no storage, no menus, no screen, and a limited number of controls - the most dynamic electronics. The ProKeys 88sx change programs instantly. Conclusion If you only use the sound the piano and played in concerts, the ProKeys 88sx would be a worthy purchase. Conversely, if you and your 88sx left the house, it would be right at home connected to computer platform all winter. Note that this is primarily a performance piano with keyboard control capabilities very basic standard of many "big rig" performance and programming features such as divisions, areas, and savable presets are absent. If real time monitoring programs such as Ableton Live is the concert, you may want something with more buttons and sliders. However, many of the players need something that just works on both sides, and that's all. ProKeys 88sx is a go at the big ax; hold the concerts around the city, testing, testing, and writing. Put it on your desktop in the studio, throw over his shoulder with his laptop and carry on your boat, or take the stage with one hand and drink in the other. For a long time gigsters the real world and that everyone needs a geeksters piano digital control with some ability that is cheap, great sound, reliable and ultra-lightweight. Now we have one, and huge bang-for-the-money makes our prize giving key Buy obvious. Claim Check Claim Check M-Audio says "keyboard players should not have to sacrifice their backs for exceptional sound quality and playability. Designed specifically for the gigging musician, the ProKeys 88sx provides the essential sounds that keyboard players do trust most - a multi-speed Grand Piano, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet and three - GBP 17 lightweight. form factor that can be carried under his arm. In addition, the ProKeys 88sx has semi-musical weighted action and other professional features, including inputs for assignable sustain, sustained, and expression pedals, more integrated in the choir and the effects reverberation. You can also use a USB-MIDI interface and controller, and two headphone jacks make it ideal for teaching. The combination of this set of features and affordable price allows even an entry level user to experience professional quality sound and touch. General Pros Great piano and electric piano sounds. Incredibly lightweight. There can be much more affordable. Cons No 5-pin MIDI input. M-Audio www.m-audio.com $ 449.95 i guess it depends on how you will use -- I like 5-pin MIDI, but that's me - if you do not need it, who cares? if you have a friend in the UK, you can get this for you, 'benefit ll of the current EUR / $ strength, too! I hope it's a little help? ooo - I almost forgot - if you find the digital audio can also use a tube buffer lil in the analog output (whenever that is in your system!) look at the Chinese-made tube tops economic omg you can get on ebay! = P

the best stage piano for under £ 300?

I am thinking of buying a stage piano. to be used for gigging and studio work .. by so be of good quality sounds, but also a strong construction. I have a budget of £ 300. I looked for some time, and I've been looking for near the M-Audio ProKeys 88. I need some advice. thanks for reading.

For under £ 300 that there is much to choose from, but I'd put my money on a SP-5100 UK just under UK £ 300 or SP-5500 for just over £ 300. I work in the studio lot and put my money on either of these pianos any day. http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_sp5500.htm Both are piano http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_sp5100.htm Proffesional that not everything can add up to £ 2000 Yamaha Piano, but do the job very well and fully weighted MIDI keyboard and USB.
