Style Electric Bass

I want to start a band with my friends, but always me Down because I play the bass?
First, let's say that this band is a bit screwed. They want bad call "fusion" when is a classic style rock band. "FUSION" sounds like a Dance / Disco / name of the band Electric. I I say that, but they do not listen anyway. I'm not great, but I'm not bad for a beginner. I'm playing a couple of months, but I'm pretty good. But there is a problem. My friends want to play classic rock. My friend (who plays guitar) with me everywhere, but the singer only low to me: "No bass solos. I mention bands like Iron Maiden and Red Hot Chili Peppers, but he still believes that is irrelevant to a band, and not important. I try to persuade him that the low is important before you leave. What I do?
If he is not willing to listen, then tell him to get the f * ck out.
What electric bass and amp to buy? (Total $ 1100 for all)?
I've been playing electric bass for 2 years. I played jazz, blues, Latin, and some rock, and now I'm getting into more metal and rock. I've only played a bass amp school and so far, but now I really want have my own set. I have $ 1100 to spend on everything, I go a little further, and certainly less. I do not want an amp really super complicated, but thats a good one for many styles, especially jazz and rock. I want an amp that you can make the sound all distorted and cold when you want, and less so when not desired. Thanks ~
My suggestion would be to ensure that investing in a good amp - a good amp can make even a big bass sound average, but an amplifier of ill will do almost anything you play through it sounds bad. With that being said, do not buy Behringer. Never. With your price range, I suggest you search the low-and midrange amplifiers. The best manufacturers of mid-bass guitars Ibanez and Schecter were going - you should be able to get low very well from any of the companies for $ 400-500. Watch Ibanez Soundgear Series in (collars very comfortable and playability, the highest in the range come with sweet pills Bartolini), or low Schecter Stiletto (there is no series of models, but all are quite solid). Most importantly, however, is to play the bass before buying. For example, some are finished Schecter Basses painted on the necks of some people really do not appreciate, while others are fine with him. Go to a music store with low some things in mind and try to play as many as you can for a while - find which one feels better, sounds better, and suits your needs the best - then you're ready! As for amps go, There are few options for good quality mid-priced gear. Stay away from Behringer like the plague, and low-end and Ampeg Gallien Krueger (both GK and Ampeg do some great amps, but the cheaper stuff is really terrible). For real simplicity, go for a combo amp - then you have everything in one unit, without buying a separate head and cabinet. What you get also depends on which configuration is going to be playing in. If you are practicing self or interference with a friend, you do not need anything bigger than a good quality practice amp (Acoustic AB50, Ashdown After Eight / Perfect Ten). But if you will be playing any concerts, will have much more watts - like 300 +. If you go to a bank of this powerful, I plan to spend less than $ 600-700. Check out some things for Ashdown Gallien Krueger, Hartke (sometimes incoherent, I've heard), Carvin ... I highly recommend online Ashdown MAG - would fit perfectly in the price range that is looking, and probably have the best sound quality and reliability you will find in any platforms under $ 1000. (Another advantage is that Ashdown is in control tonal very good, so you can give a lot of different sounds, perfect if their musical styles are varied) Go to and look up http://www.musiciansfriend.com, there are a lot of different things to choose from, and I can not know exactly what you're looking for, without more information = P ... There 1x15, 2x10, 4x10 "cabinets, the heads of the 180-600 watt range ... though it is curious - now that costs $ 300 for the 180W, 300W, and 600W heads - if you go for it, get a 600W! It's a good crazy, if you ask me. So, let's see ... $ 300-500 for a low $ 200 - $ 700 for an amplifier (depending on the power you want), and you are looking at $ 500-1200 for a platform under very pretty. Again, this depends on how much you're willing to pay for your bass and what kind of amp you want, but that's an idea general =) I hope you find what you want. Salud!
